Sunny days
Today's one of those perfect Bay Area fall days, so bright, warm and clear it almost makes up for the fact that we don't get real summers. This sounds right:

Zafra: "I Can See That" (H&L, 1978)
Hey, effects nerds! What pedal (or combination thereof) is on the guitar that gives it the "Who's That Lady" sound? Thanks!

Great track Matthew - this following knowledge is from my good friend Bobby Champagne Jnr. who generally knows such things!
"Sounds like a phaser (probably an Electro-Harmonix ‘Small Stone’) or a flanger (probably an Electro-Harmonix ‘Electric Mistress’) with a bit of fuzz thrown on. Although there’s a bit of a ‘Talk Box’ quality to the guitar on ‘Who’s That Lady’, which means it’s probably a guitar fed through a synth…"
...hope that helps
Rob, thanks so much!
Now all I need is a guitar, a phaser or flanger plus fuzz and some guitar lessons, and I'll be kicking out summer jams all day every day! I'm not entirely joking!
Hi. Effects nerd here.
Was listening to this on shitty laptop speakers but I'm pretty sure it's a low pass filter with some distortion, maybe a phaser too (Small Stone most likely), no flanger. I can get a very similar sound using some fuzz with my Moogerfooger 101. But in addition to the 2 guitars, there's a synth which doubles up on the guitar you're takin bout so that makes it hard to tell.
Anyway, nice track. Hadnt heard these guys before. Now I gotta hunt down the album.
